Summary

Waking Nights Support Worker - Ash Vale / Mytchett (GU16)

Part-time role - Tuesday & Saturday nights, 10pm-7am
£12.92 per hour

At Dimensions, every night is a chance to make a meaningful difference. As a Waking Nights Support Worker in Mytchett, you'll create a calm and reassuring environment, supporting people to feel safe, comfortable, and well throughout the night. Recognised as a Great Place to Work for seven years running, we'll support you too — with training, wellbeing resources, and a workplace where you can be you.

About the people you'll support

You'll be working in a warm, friendly home supporting five adults aged 40-70, each with learning disabilities and their own personalities, routines, and interests. While your role is focused on nights, you'll be part of a team that helps them live the life they choose.

Here are some of the things they love during the daytime, helping you understand their routines and what matters to them:

- Scenic drives — especially for one lady who enjoys the journey as much as the destination

- Meals out at the pub

- Arts and crafts

- Peaceful visits to Frimley Lodge Park

- Planning and going on holidays

Knowing what brings them joy helps you provide personalised, thoughtful night-time support.

What your night shifts will look like

As a Waking Nights Support Worker, you'll stay awake and alert throughout your shift, ensuring safety, comfort, and continuity of care. You'll be:

- Carrying out regular night-time wellbeing checks

- Repositioning people to maintain comfort and health

- Providing personal care with dignity and respect

- Keeping the home safe, clean, and comfortable with light household tasks

- Writing clear, simple documentation about events overnight

- Responding calmly and kindly if someone wakes, needs reassurance, or requires support

Every task contributes to a peaceful and secure night — for the people you support and their families.

Your working pattern

- Tuesday nights, 10pm-7am

- Saturday nights, 10pm-7am

- Part-time role (two waking-night shifts per week)

(Sleep-ins and day shifts are not part of this role.)

Who we're looking for

You don't need previous care experience — just compassion, patience, and a steady, reassuring presence at night. If you're someone who is calm, attentive, and supportive even in the quiet hours, you'll thrive here.
