Summary
Job Title: Support Worker – Part time
Location: Domiciliary Care Head Office
Responsible to: TBC at Interview depending on Service user
Hours of work: 12–30 hours per week, worked on a rota that could include weekends.
Main Purpose of the Role:
• Create opportunities for children and young people to access their local community and take part in meaningful activities, providing much needed respite for families.
• Provide safe, nurturing, and responsive support that meets the physical, emotional, psychological, social, and environmental needs of each child or young person, using a fully person‑centred approach.
• Build trusting, respectful relationships with children, young people, their families, and those important to them.
• Promote and protect each individual’s privacy, dignity, independence, choice, and human rights, ensuring their voice is central to all decisions.
• Support children and young people to participate in meaningful activities, community opportunities, and experiences that build confidence and resilience.
• Take part in day trips, activities, and holidays as required.
• Contribute to planning and organising daily timetables, ensuring a consistent and child‑centred team approach.
• Provide support with all aspects of daily living, including personal care, medication, emotional wellbeing, communication, and social development.
• Follow each child’s digital care plan, risk assessments, education plans, and behaviour support strategies, ensuring support is tailored to their individual needs and preferences.
• Attend and contribute to team meetings and service‑user workshops to create or change behaviour reduction strategies in times of dys-regulation or crisis.
• Advocate for the rights, wishes, and best interests of the children and young people and work in line with KTM's core values.
