The daily work can be as varied as the beautiful landscapes you will be working in – doorstep crime, counterfeiting, motor crime, weights and measures and consumer safety.

The team conducts an annual programme of calibration at a major industrial site in the county. The team also administers the Safety Advisory Group so there will be the opportunity for the successful candidate to be involved in a variety of projects.

Hybrid working is available for this position, with our offices located in Northallerton.

The successful applicant will be a qualified trading standards officer, ideally with extensive experience in several areas.

You will be expected to lead on complex investigations and provide guidance and mentoring to develop the team. You will also have opportunity to present cases in the Magistrates’ court.

North Yorkshire Council supports staff through membership of CTSI which will allow you access to the CPPD scheme.
