Main Purpose of the Role:
• Support each Child to follow their personalised timetable and structured weekly programme within the KTM AE Service and Social Care Community Services (where this aligns with your agreed working hours).
• Promote consistent access to learning by working in line with each person’s care plan, risk assessments, and individual goals.
• Share ideas, concerns, or challenges with the AE Senior Team and contribute positively to problem‑solving and service development.
• Take an active role in delivering the KTM Badge system, supporting meaningful learning and celebrating progress.
• Provide support in the least restrictive, most enabling way, working with colleagues to embed new strategies that enhance wellbeing and independence.
• Work collaboratively with individuals and the team to identify approaches that reduce behaviours of distress and promote emotional regulation.
• Contribute to evidence gathering for Badge achievements and offer creative suggestions for rewards and motivational activities.
• Encourage and support individuals to explore a range of environments, building confidence, resilience, and community participation.
• Uphold a strong duty of care at all times, reporting any concerns promptly in line with organisational safeguarding policies and procedures.
• Use innovative, person‑centred approaches to promote positive behaviour outcomes, expand opportunities, and enable individuals to engage in meaningful activities that maximise their potential.
• Implement proactive, consistent strategies that enhance quality of life and reduce the likelihood of behaviours of distress, ensuring support is tailored to each person’s needs and preferences.
• Maintain accurate, clear, and factual records while protecting confidentiality at all times.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including CQC standards, risk assessments, incident reporting, and safeguarding documentation.
• Participate in service‑user workshops, contributing to a positive team culture and supporting confidence and morale within the service.
• Attend staff meetings and maintain professional communication with parents and carers, including through WhatsApp groups where appropriate.
• Engage in KTM functions and group activities that strengthen team cohesion and promote a positive working environment.
