Summary
To maintain and develop personal competency across all areas of Blood Sciences, progressing towards Specialist Practitioner level through portfolio or equivalent experience. Use scientific knowledge, interpretive skills, complex analysers, an IT system to deliver an accurate and efficient diagnostic service in Biochemistry, Haematology, and Blood Transfusion. Perform, interpret, and authorise specialised and routine tests in line with departmental protocols, ensuring high-quality diagnostic results to support patient care. Train and support other staff as required, ensuring effective work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to uphold UKAS and ISO 15189:2022 standards, contributing to quality, safety, and continuous improvement. Manage resources efficiently to support departmental budgets and maintain service excellence. Liaise closely with managers and clinicians to ensure timely, reliable, and patient-focused service delivery.
