Summary
As part of the surgical team provide perfusion and associated services for surgical, diagnostic and support procedures ensuring a high standard of patient care. Prepare, set up and maintain and check all perfusion related equipment so that they are clean, safe and in good working order. To provide ECMO service for Cardiac Theatre and the Intensive Care Unit. To provide Cell Salvage service as required by patients in the Cardiac Department and elsewhere in the Trust when necessary. Liaise with multidisciplinary team to promote and maintain the highest standard of patient care. Participate in the training and supervision of new staff and student placements and participate in the interdepartmental cover arrangements for absent colleagues. Ensure the cost effective use of resources. Participate in the department out of hours on-call system
