Summary

The Home Office works to build a safe, fair and prosperous UK. We achieve this through our work on counter-terrorism, policing, fire, crime, drugs policy, immigration and passports.

Immigration Enforcement is responsible for enforcing the government’s immigration laws, tackling illegal migration, removing foreign national offenders and immigration offenders from the UK. It also aims to disrupt the organised criminal groups that exploit the vulnerable for their personal gain. Learn more on our careers pages.

Reporting and Offender Management (ROM) teams are an integral part of the Immigration Enforcement Strategy and work within the Immigration, Compliance and Enforcement team (ICE).

This opportunity would suit an individual who enjoys working as part of a team and thrives in a dynamic environment.

ROM Teams are part of the Immigration Enforcement team and are a key element of delivering enforced removals and promoting voluntary departure, contributing towards reducing the size of the illegal population present in the UK. They are responsible for achieving key objectives that include; meaningful contact that encourages voluntary return, management of a reporting population that drives compliance and progressing cases towards enforced return or other case conclusion

ROM are responsible for the attendance and management of a large number of Immigration offenders, who, due to their current circumstances and conditions of their Immigration bail are required to maintain contact with the Home Office. Those who are required to report are asylum seekers, immigration offenders and high harm individuals. Contact with the reporting population can be via numerous formats including face to face attendance. ROM teams monitor bail and reporting regimes, promote voluntary returns, identify those suitable for an enforced removal, detain those liable for removal and obtain intelligence.

ROM Belfast manages cases reporting to the Belfast Reporting Centre and at police stations across Northern Ireland.

The ROM function proactively contributes towards a reduction in the number of illegal immigrants present in the UK and the successful candidates will undertake a range of duties, which supports this strategy.
