Summary
You will play a key role in the design, development, procurement, installation, operation, and organisation of events—helping ensure they are safe, engaging, inclusive, and delivered to an exceptional standard.
This role also supports project management of corporate events and contributes to the Council’s communication aims by helping raise awareness and understanding of Hull City Council’s vision, strategic priorities, reputation, and achievements.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Planning & Delivery.
Assist the events team in all aspects of planning and delivering events, including design, development, procurement, installation, operation, and site organisation.
Support the coordination of logistics, staffing, equipment, contractors, and event infrastructure.
Prepare and contribute to event documentation, such as risk assessments, event management plans, safety procedures, and operational briefings.
Provide hands‑on assistance during builds, live event days, and break‑downs.
Corporate Events & Communications:
Assist with the project management of corporate events that help communicate the Council’s vision, priorities, and achievements.
Support communication channels for internal and external audiences to build confidence and trust in the Council’s ability to deliver local services and its plans for the city.
Help develop and deliver events that raise the profile of the Council among employees, internal stakeholders, partners, residents, and specific target groups.
Partnership & Professional Support:
Provide professional support to the events team, partners, and stakeholders involved in corporate and public events.
Work collaboratively with internal departments, external partners, suppliers, sponsors, and community groups.
Assist with tasks that promote the reputation, visibility, and impact of Council-led events.
We are looking for someone who:
Is highly organised, practical, and able to manage multiple tasks.
Can work confidently in fast‑paced event environments, including live events.
Communicates clearly and builds strong working relationships.
Has a creative and solution‑focused approach to challenges.
Can work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays when required.
Is eager to develop further skills in event management, safety, and public engagement.
Relevant experience in event coordination, project support, communications, or public‑facing roles is desirable, but transferable skills are welcome.
