Summary

Hull City Council is seeking an experienced Safeguarding Officer to help ensure the safety, wellbeing, and educational entitlement of children and young people accessing alternative provision.
In this key role, you will monitor safeguarding practice across all Local Authority‑commissioned alternative provision, carrying out audits to ensure compliance with Ofsted frameworks and statutory guidance. You will act as the lead link between providers, families, and external agencies, ensuring concerns are addressed quickly and children receive safe, inclusive, and high‑quality education.
You will also deliver safeguarding training to groups and individual settings, supporting continuous improvement and strong safeguarding cultures.
We are looking for someone with solid safeguarding knowledge, a qualification in health and safety or willingness to work towards and a passion for improving outcomes for vulnerable young people.
