Do you believe in the transformative power of education?
At Pivot, we ensure you have the time and support to shape futures.
Join our mission to inspire and empower learners and make a lasting impact on their lives.
At Pivot we believe children deserve better. We are a specialist independent provision with sites in Huddersfield, Wakefield and Leeds.
Our schools are focused on developing the whole learner, working with their interests to engage them in education, so they feel successful and ready to take positive steps in their journey to adulthood and beyond. We teach and support children and young people with SEND from Key Stages 2 to 5 who may have traumatic backgrounds. Every day our teams do incredible work, making a huge difference to some complex and challenging children.
Pivot Academy Kirklees provides educational and therapeutic support for young people who have social & emotional mental health and ASC who may be supported by an EHCP. We work with families to provide bespoke support based on the individual needs of each child, giving them opportunities to gain a variety of qualifications, following personalised pathways through to further education or employment.
We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and resilient practitioner to join our team. As a teacher, you will promote and engage with students in your subject area/s delivering quality first teaching to learners with SEND. We are looking for a reflective practitioner with a strong passion for helping every learner in their care reach their full potential. Experience in teaching Key Stage 2 and SEND learners is essential in this role.
What We Offer
• Inclusive Environment: We cater for learners with diverse SEMH learning needs, providing a positive, supportive and nurturing atmosphere where you can thrive as a teacher, purposefully delivering exciting lessons that meet specialist needs.
• Small Class Sizes: Enjoy the benefits of teaching smaller groups, allowing for personalised attention and meaningful connections. This means more time to plan, deliver and assess, making the difference in the classroom, where it really matters.
• Holistic Approach: We focus on developing not only academic skills but also life and personal skills, fostering well-rounded individuals, transforming the futures of our learners.
• Collaborative Team: Join a small, passionate team of educators committed to making a difference in learners’ lives. Receive full support from a dedicated team of senior leaders and colleagues, with a focus on your professional development and career progression.
• Ethical Commitment: Join a community that values empathy, kindness, and integrity.
What are we looking for?
• Passion: A love for teaching and a desire to ignite curiosity in our learners.
• Adaptability: Flexibility to tailor teaching methods to individual learners’ needs.
• Empathy: Understanding and supporting learners using trauma informed practice.
• Creativity: Innovative approaches to make subjects engaging and relatable.
• Commitment: Helping learners to achieve their potential, with high expectations of themselves and others.
