The Role & Responsibilities:

The Income Recovery Officer will work as part of a dedicated team of Income Officers and Money and Benefit Advisors to maximise the income from rents, service charges and other monies due, by taking prompt and appropriate action to minimise arrears and non-payment.

The Income Recovery Officer will be responsible for a patch of properties, following the necessary processes and legal procedures on low arrears through to notices, court and eviction, with the authority of the Senior Housing Officer and the Income and Tenancy Sustainment Manager.  

Who We Are Looking For:

An ability to communicate clearly and effectively with customers, both in written and verbal form, adapting style and approach to meet the needs of a diverse community. 
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to persuade and influence others. 
Relevant experience of housing, debt and tenancy law or experience of working in a similar related field desirable. 
Excellent IT skills including Word, Outlook and Excel. 
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. 
Ability to prioritise tasks and manage workload by effective time management. 
The ability to build effective relationships with Officers and the wider Housing team. 
Ability to identify when customers need additional support. 
GCSE English and Maths Grade C or above (Grades 4 – 9) or equivalent.

Due to the nature of this role, the successful applicant will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check as well as a Baseline Personal Security Standard (BPSS) as part of their pre-employment clearances.  

This role requires a driving license or the ability to get to locations in a timely manner equivalent to motor travel in your own vehicle.
