Are you passionate about education and community impact?
Capital City College (CCC) is the largest college group within the London area, and the third largest in the country. On an annual basis we enrol over 30,000 students and employ 1850 members of staff. We are seeking a committed and visionary individual to join our Board of Governors.
Our group is made up of 12 fantastic campuses across London, along with our training arm, Apprenticeships+, and a training restaurant, The Vincent Rooms. We also helped found Visionnaires, a social enterprise for entrepreneurs, and 01 Founders, a unique coding school.
Our most recent Ofsted report highlights our success and strong focus both on students and on meeting industry needs. Our ambition is, and always has been, to provide the best educational experience to our students and the best professional opportunities for our staff. In short, our goal is to be the first choice further education and training provider within the region.
About the Role
As a Governor, you will play a vital strategic role in shaping the future of education, skills development and economic opportunity across the communities we serve.
You will:
• Help set and uphold our strategic direction, ethos and values.
• Ensure Senior Leader deliver high-quality teaching, learning and outcomes.
• Ensure strong financial stewardship and responsible use of public funds.
• Support the Executive Leadership team effectively.
• Engage with students, staff, employers and the wider community to help ensure our provision meets local needs.
This may or may not be your first board appointment. We would particular welcome an application from a community leader or a someone with experience in property development.
Why Become a Governor?
This is a rewarding opportunity to:
* Make a meaningful contribution to the success and life chances of learners across London.
* Influence strategic decision-making at a senior level.
* Give back to the community while developing leadership and governance skills.
* Help foster inclusive, high-quality education that responds to local and national needs.
Governors generally commit around two days per month for meetings, preparation and occasional visits — with greater involvement for committee chairs and specialized roles.
Who We're Looking For
We welcome applications from individuals who:
* Are passionate about education and community development.
* Have experience or interest in strategy, education, or local economic development.
* Bring sound judgement, strategic insight and a collaborative mindset.
Our students come from a wide range of backgrounds and we are therefore particularly interested to hear from applicants who will help our Board be more reflective of the diversity of our student population.
