In this position, you will be responsible for investigating complaints related to housing conditions and taking appropriate action to ensure compliance with health regulations. You will work closely with landlords, tenants, and various stakeholders to provide guidance and support in resolving housing-related concerns. Responsibilities
Conduct inspections of residential properties to assess compliance with health and safety standards
Investigate complaints from tenants and the public regarding housing conditions and illegal practices
Prepare detailed reports and documentation following inspections and investigations
Enforce relevant legislation and regulations pertaining to private sector housing
Advise landlords and tenants on their rights and responsibilities in relation to housing standards
Collaborate with other agencies and departments to promote healthy housing initiatives
Maintain accurate records and databases related to inspections, complaints, and actions taken
Requirements
A degree in Environmental Health or a related field
Registration with the relevant professional body (e.g., Environmental Health Registration Board)
Proven experience in environmental health, specifically in private sector housing
Strong understanding of housing legislation, health and safety regulations, and environmental standards
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with diverse groups
Ability to analyze complex situations and develop practical solutions to problems
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and priorities effectively
Hours Per Week: 36.00
Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Hour : £34.88
