We are currently Recruiting for a Bank Mobile Cancer Care Unit driver to join our bank team here in the NNUH. This role will involve covering periods of sickness and annual leave, therefore the successful candidate must be flexible and available to work as required

The post holder will be a qualified LGV Class 2 Driver, and will work as an integral part of the Oncology and Haematology Team, to deliver a mobile cancer care service across Norfolk.


The post holder will drive the Mobile Cancer Care Unit to different locations within the county. They will set up and prepare the unit for the delivery of treatments, and close down and secure the unit at end of each treatment day. The post holder will be responsible for meeting and greeting patients on arrival, providing administrative support to nurses and patients, assist in patient care and other related duties as directed by a Registered Nurse. The unit will be operational 4 days per week, travelling to locations across Norfolk. The post holder will also arrange servicing, cleaning and maintenance of the unit.
• To safely drive the unit to the specified locations and set it up in situ for the treatment day.
• To prepare the unit for service and close the unit down, replenishing consumables, supplies and equipment at the end of each day. To ensure the safeguarding of keys provided whilst on duty and to ensure that vehicles/areas/rooms are locked before coming off duty.
• Ensure that the keys are returned to the Weybourne Day Unit key safe and locked away.
• To undertake the daily vehicle maintenance checks and safety checks as required, refuel the vehicle and maintain it in a clean, safe and presentable condition.
• To use vehicle and equipment safely and effectively and report any defects immediately. To report any maintenance and safety issues to the charity Hope for Tomorrow.
• To maintain a clean driving license, reporting any incidents immediately.
• To dispose of clinical waste, empty toilet cassette, and flush water system daily.
• To monitor and record fridge temperatures daily, reporting and acting on any abnormalities.
• To carry out daily risk assessments on external sites before parking and setting up the unit as appropriate.
• To report and liaise with Hope for Tomorrow charity any issues with the vehicles, incidents or defects.
• To meet and greet patients arriving for treatment and complete administration duties as directed by the Registered Nurse
