Summary
- Grassroots facilities delivery - overseeing the delivery of hundreds of millions into multi-sport grassroots facilities across the UK, tackling inactivity, supporting the Government’s Health mission and building cohesive communities through providing access to high quality shared sporting spaces.
- The future pipeline of major sporting events - driving forward the Government's work, with partners, to secure, and successfully host, the world’s biggest and best sporting events, including the Tour De France, and the bid for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2035
- The UEFA European Championships 2028 - ensuring the Government delivers on its commitments to ensure that this major event is staged successfully, maximising economic growth and benefiting local communities. This programme is part of the Government Major Projects Portfolio.

This role will sit in the Grassroots Facilities Investment team that is responsible for DCMS’s direct capital investment into grassroots sports facilities.
The post holder will work in the Grassroots Facilities’ Strategy and Evaluation subteam and will lead on and support a variety of workstreams, including drafting business cases for funding programmes, designing and agreeing programme objectives with relevant delivery partners, coordination of Ministerial announcements and visits, and providing advice to Senior Civil Servants and Ministers, in order to support delivery of high-quality, inclusive facilities which help to get more people active.
The successful candidate will develop effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders across DCMS and other government departments, as well as external stakeholders, notably Sport England, the Football Foundation and Football Associations in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
You will work alongside experienced project and policy professionals in a fast paced environment and have the opportunity to develop your skills and experience in policy and/or project management, and the civil service more generally.
