I’m Dan, and I’ve been working closely with primary schools for the past two years, supporting them with their recruitment needs. I’m currently working with a number of schools in Basildon who are looking for flexible Learning Support Assistants to provide classroom cover and support across EYFS, KS1, and KS2. This role is ideal for those seeking day-to-day, short-term, or ongoing work, depending on availability.

The Learning Support Assistant role involves supporting pupils either one-to-one or in small groups, assisting the class teacher with learning activities, and helping to maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment. You may also provide general classroom support and help manage behaviour in line with school policies. Working hours are typically 8:30am to 3:30pm.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:

• Experience working with children in a school or educational setting

  
  

• A calm, patient, and supportive approach

  
  

• Confidence supporting learning and behaviour in the classroom

  
  

• The ability to adapt quickly to new environments and routines

  
  

• A reliable and professional attitude

  
  

• An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one
