Summary

Learning Support Assistants (PMLD & SLD)
Location: Basildon, Essex
Pay: £90 - £100 per day (Dependant on Experience)
Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday (Term-Time Only)

The Environment: A Hub of Excellence
Join a team that truly changes lives. We are currently recruiting for a landmark school in Basildon. This isn't just a standard classroom setting; it is a purpose-built, state-of-the-art facility designed from the ground up to support children with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).
From the hydrotherapy pools and immersive sensory suites to the latest in assistive communication technology, you will be working in one of the best-equipped SEND environments in the country.

Your Role: More Than Just Support
As a Learning Support Assistant, you are the bridge between the curriculum and the student. You will be a champion for inclusive education, with daily responsibilities including:

  • Personalised Educational Assistance: Implementing bespoke learning plans that cater to the unique sensory and cognitive profiles of your students.
  • Specialised Care & Mobility: Managing the physical well-being of pupils with empathy and professionalism. This includes assisting with personal care, feeding, and the use of specialised hoist and mobility equipment (training provided).
  • Communication Advocacy: Utilising tools such as PECS, Makaton, or eye-gaze technology to ensure every child has a voice and can interact with their peers and teachers.
  • Sensory Integration: Facilitating play and learning within high-tech sensory environments to help students regulate and engage with the world around them.
  • Collaborative Practice: Working as part of a high-functioning team alongside specialist Teachers, Occupational Therapists, and Physiotherapists.

Are You Our Next LSA?
We are looking for individuals who view SEND education as a calling rather than just a career. To be successful in this "Outstanding" environment, you will need:

  • A Sincere Calling: A genuine interest in the development of children with complex needs.
  • Resilience and Patience: The ability to remain calm, positive, and encouraging, celebrating the "small wins" that represent huge milestones for our pupils.
  • A Desire to Help: A proactive "can-do" attitude and a willingness to get stuck into all aspects of school life.
  • A Learning Mindset: A commitment to ongoing professional development and a desire to learn specialist skills within a world-class setting.

The Package & Benefits

  • Competitive Pay: £90 - £100 per day, paid weekly, reflecting your experience and dedication.
  • Prestigious Setting: The pride and security of working within a top-tier rated institution.
  • Advanced Resources: Access to the best equipment and facilities currently available in the SEND sector.
  • Career Progression: Significant opportunities for internal growth and specialist training for those committed to the field.
