Summary

Room Leader (Level 3) – £30,500 – Full-Time

You’ll be leading one of the fun and exciting rooms, working alongside the children and practitioners. The role involves planning, staffing, ratios, and room organisation, with the expectation that you will step in to cover practice when needed. The nursery uses indoor and outdoor spaces throughout the day, so you’ll be moving between areas and adjusting the room’s pace based on children’s needs and attendance.

  • This role requires a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification.
  • Applicants must have recent experience leading a room in a nursery setting.
  • This position is not suitable for candidates without leadership experience or without confidence working independently.

What You’ll Need

  • Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent)
  • Recent experience as a Room Leader or senior practitioner in a nursery
  • Strong knowledge of EYFS and child development
  • Confidence managing staff and leading room practice
  • Clear understanding of safeguarding and welfare requirements

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the room’s daily delivery of the EYFS and ensure consistent practice
  • Manage staff deployment, ratios, and room organisation
  • Plan and oversee activities, observations, and learning records
  • Maintain safeguarding, health and safety, and welfare standards
  • Communicate with parents regarding children’s progress and daily care
  • Support the nursery manager with room-based quality improvement
