Your new company
You'll be joining a global manufacturing organisation with a strong, established footprint and a commitment to continuous improvement across its international supply chain operations. The business operates across multiple sites worldwide and is known for its investment in innovation, quality, and long‑term stability.
Based at the company's Bury office, you'll become part of a collaborative supply chain function that works across regions to drive procurement excellence and operational performance.

Your new role
Working within the Indirect Category, the Junior Buyer will be responsible for managing procurement activity for indirect materials, MRO parts, capital equipment, and services across multiple global sites. Your role will include:

  • Leading supplier interactions, conducting negotiations, and managing contracts.
  • Supporting global procurement initiatives by gathering and analysing data, identifying cost saving opportunities, and developing category strategies.
  • Acting as the main point of contact for key suppliers, driving performance, ensuring compliance, and supporting long-term supplier relationships.
  • Preparing proposals, sourcing new suppliers, analysing market trends, and ensuring competitive pricing.
  • Working with senior stakeholders across different regions to support procurement objectives and contribute to strategic planning.
  • Occasional international travel (up to 25%, subject to business needs).


What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience in a procurement role - e.g. Buyer, Procurement Officer, Junior Buyer, Procurement Coordinator
  • Strong negotiation skills with a track record of delivering meaningful results.
  • Ideally, you'll bring an understanding of contract law.
  • Experience assessing supply risks and identifying alternative sourcing options.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities, cost‑analysis skills, and awareness of market drivers.
  • High attention to detail, strong time‑management, and the ability to work across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Confidence working with global suppliers.
  • Strong MS Office skills; SAP experience is highly desirable.
  • Ideally, you will be degree qualified.
