This full-time post is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious junior doctor to join our department in the provision of trauma and orthopaedic services. There will be job plan for applicant to undertake supervised and independent work depending on the experience and ability of the successful candidate.

This post is to provide a clinical service in Orthopaedics, working closely with the Consultants, Specialist Registrars, and Foundation Doctors. The post will include a 1:10 on-call commitment for emergency admissions.

The junior doctors are exposed to the trauma and elective management inpatient and outpatient setting. They are actively involved in the direct clinical care of patients admitted under the orthopaedic consultants for emergency and elective surgery.

The post holder is required to hold current Registration with the General Medical Council on commencement. The post holder will be required to demonstrate their ability to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation and undergo further training in this area if deemed necessary.

Appointment is subject to a satisfactory medical examination and references.



Previous Applicants Need not Apply

1) Daily ward rounds to provide care for the orthopaedic patients in the orthopaedic and outlying wards


2) Providing assistance to the consultants during surgery when necessary


3) Attendance at outpatient clinics when required


4) Participation in the daily Trauma meetings


5) Supervision of FY1s


6) Participating in departmental audits


7) Participation in the level 2 on call rota (1:10)



8) Other duties as assigned by Specialty registrars and consultants
