Summary


This is a newly created post in a busy community-based CAMHS service which serves a population size of around 330,000. The service is commissioned to provide specialist mental health support for children and young people aged 5 to 18 years presenting with moderate to severe mental health difficulties.

The post holder will, as part of the psychiatry team, be involved primarily in cases presenting with complexity and high risk and where medical/psychiatry input is indicated. The post holder will, as a member of the psychiatry team, have a key role in facilitating informed clinical decision making, in promoting safe, evidenced based, quality care and in containing professional anxiety.



Direct clinical care includes both routine and unplanned work responsive to need eg urgent/emergency presentations. The post holder will have an active role in the service in providing 1ston psychiatry daytime duty cover.
