Reporting to: Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion
Team: Pastoral & Inclusion Team and the School Office Team A role for someone who believes ‘every child deserves a champion’
At Folville Junior School, we are proud of our community: resilient, diverse, full of potential and joy. Our children are brilliant — they deserve adults who see them, know them, and champion them every single day. If you are someone who already works within social care and you’re looking for a place where your skills, heart and instincts can make a real difference, we would love to meet you.
We are looking for a Family Support Worker who is proactive, warm, and deeply committed to supporting families before challenges escalate. Someone who can spot the early signs, build trust quickly, and work with honesty and compassion to help children feel safe, ready and able to learn.
This is not a desk job. It’s a role for someone who loves people. Someone who thrives on connection, curiosity and problem-solving. Someone who wants to walk alongside families and work with them. .
What you’ll do
· Build strong, trusting relationships with families and children
· Offer early help support — often before families reach formal Early Help
· Work proactively to identify concerns before they grow
· Deliver regular parent support sessions and group work
· Carry out joint home visits that build rapport and sustain engagement
· Support vulnerable children so their basic needs — practical and emotional — are met
· Represent the school at Early Help meetings as required.
· Work across with our feeder schools to offer transition support as required.
· Be a warm, familiar presence in our school office, welcoming parents with kindness
· Help new families feel safe, reassured and part of our community from day one
Who are we looking for?
You are already working in social care or a similar family-focused role and are ready for a new challenge where you can see the impact of your work every single day.
You are:
· Able to build good relationships quickly; compassionate and calm under pressure
· Curious and tenacious — you don’t give up easily
· Someone who notices the small things that matter
· Confident working with different agencies
· Passionate about supporting families with dignity and respect
· Ready to be part of a school where every child has a champion
What We Can Offer You
At Folville, you will be joining a team who genuinely care about each other as much as they care about our children. We believe that for adults to do their best work, they need to feel valued, trusted and supported — every single day. Here’s what you can expect:
A Culture That Values You
· A warm, human team who lead with kindness, clarity and honesty.
· Flexibility wherever possible, because children come first — and that means your wellbeing has to come first too.
· A paid Duvet Day each year — a no-questions-asked wellbeing day for you to rest, reset or do something that brings you joy.
· High-quality training in evidence-based family interventions such as Solihull and FFT.
· Opportunities to work across our feeder schools, strengthening early help and making a difference beyond our own gates.
· Regular supervision, coaching, and professional development that help you grow with confidence.
