About the Role


A specialist further education setting in Coventry is seeking dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to support learners with a wide range of additional needs. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about helping young people develop independence, communication skills, and confidence in a supportive, inclusive environment.


You'll be working with learners aged 16-25 who have diverse needs, including physical disabilities, autism, communication challenges, and complex learning difficulties. The setting offers strong staff support, ongoing training, and clear progression opportunities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small‑group support across vocational and academic sessions
  • Assist learners with communication, mobility, independence, and personal development
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support teams
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and empowering learning environment
  • Support behaviour using calm, consistent, person-centred approaches.
  • Help learners work towards personalised goals and outcomes



What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience supporting young people or adults with additional needs (education, care, youth work, or similar)
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting learners with SEND
  • Willingness to undertake training and develop specialist skills
