Summary

We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a passionate, patient-focused Band 5 Registered Nurse to join Minster Ward within the Planned Care and Surgery Division at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Trust. Minster Ward is a busy, friendly and forward-thinking unit providing high-quality pre- and post-operative care to inpatients, day-case surgical and medical day-case patients across a diverse range of specialties, including General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Urology, Gynaecology, ENT and Ophthalmology.

Working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in delivering safe, effective and compassionate care, ensuring every patient is treated with dignity, kindness and respect. You will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for a designated group of patients, in line with the NMC Code, Trust policies and evidence-based practice.

This role offers excellent opportunities for professional development, including involvement in nurse-led discharge pathways, service improvement initiatives and clinical governance activities. You will be encouraged to actively contribute to a positive learning environment, supporting students, newly qualified nurses and new starters, while acting as a positive role model for high standards of care and professional behaviour.

This is an ideal opportunity for a committed Registered Nurse looking to develop their skills within a dynamic and rewarding surgical ward environment.

We are an award-winning NHS Foundation Trust working alongside health and social care colleagues across the county to provide acute and community healthcare services to more than 420,000 people across Mansfield, Ashfield, Newark and Sherwood, and parts of Derbyshire and Lincolnshire.

We put the patient at the heart of everything that we do and it is our aim to make sure that every patient is treated as we would want a member of our own family to be treated. At the same time, we expect our staff to be caring, kind and courteous to each other and to look out for each other. We believe that we are truly a clinically-led organisation.

We are proud that our Trust colleagues have voted us the best acute Trust to work for in the East Midlands for seven years running in the National NHS Staff Survey, while the Care Quality Commission has rated our Trust as ‘outstanding’ for care and our King’s Mill Hospital as the only ‘outstanding’ NHS-run hospital in the East Midlands.

Not all of our roles are eligible for visa sponsorship. To find out which roles are eligible, please refer to the shortage occupation list found here:
