Summary
This role will suit a competitive rider who wishes to take advantage of riding many different types of horses - both on the flat and over fences. Training for both will be given - along with help with your own horse if applicable.
They value enthusiasm along with a sense of "can-do" while at work.
They will need help with travelling to competitions etc if needed - there is also the possibility of European travel!
Your role is to look after the welfare of the horses and duties include:-
Tacking up
Grooming to a high standard
Lunging
Riding if competent due to the nature of the horses
Mucking out
Helping at clinics, shows etc
This apprenticeship is mainly practical based so not lots of time spent in a classroom. If you did not gain your GCSE's at school we can support you whilst on programme.
Working hours are done on a rota basis and due to David competing you will be expected to work a weekend day and possibly do some stay away events.
You have to have lived in the EU for 3 years or more to apply for this role.
Training
All training will be provided on
site during your paid working hours.
Your day to day mentoring will be with your employer, and a combination
of online and in person monthly sessions will be held with your Haddon Training
Trainer Coach.
Qualifications required
A GCSE or equivalent pass in English
and maths is beneficial but not essential.
If you do not have passes, we will support you in achieving your
Functional Skills English and maths qualifications alongside your apprenticeship.
Although formal qualifications are not a priority - this could suit someone at BHS nearing 3 working towards 4.
Skills required
This role requires a competent rider, so must have riding experience.
These are fit competition horses so you must be competant.
Prospects
There is the possibility to progress in this role, and also the possibility of traveling to European shows!
