You will be supporting pupils in Barnet and the surrounding areas, helping them access learning and develop essential social, emotional, and academic skills.Duties as SEND Teaching Assistant:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND
- Assist teachers in delivering differentiated and accessible learning activities
- Help implement individual education plans and behaviour support strategies
- Support pupils with personal care needs where required
- Promote an inclusive and positive learning environment
- Monitor pupil progress and share observations with staff
- Contribute to wider school life during longer-term placements
- Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND
- Understanding of strategies for supporting needs such as autism, ADHD, SEMH, and communication difficulties
- Ability to build positive and nurturing relationships with pupils
- Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills
- Adaptability across different classrooms and school settings
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
- Willingness to undertake relevant training and development
