Summary

Job Summary: The Safe and Effective Care Facilitator(SECF)will,with oversight from the Safe and Effective care lead (SECL),providehigh-qualityadvice and support to Directorates and colleagues acrossNimbuscare.The post holder will provide support to ensure compliance with external statutory and regulatory requirements and internal governance, including CQC standards, PSIRF policy, and data protection, to optimise quality and patient experience. Main Duties and Responsibilities: The Safe and Effective Care Facilitatorwill work collaboratively to support colleagues withpatient safety and quality improvement initiativestodemonstrateassurance. The role involvesfacilitatinglearning fromevents, audits, patient feedback, supporting staff throughtrainingand education, and helping services meet regulatoryand organisational standards.The SECF will providesupport around compliance by providing data analysis and trend/theme analysisandinternal compliance mechanisms. These will particularly relate to the CQC, PSIRF policy and associated governance including data protection related duties to ensure that quality and experience is optimised. This role requires an individual who is driven, ambitious and passionate about the provision ,of high quality, safe and effective care with a desire to influence and work in close partnership with clinical and operational colleagues. Provide support to the Safe and Effective Care Leadin the following core functions: Support patient safety initiatives, including incident reporting, learning,auditand improvement. Co-ordinateandpulldata from multiple sources tohelpidentifyrisks, themes, and opportunities for improvement. Ensure learning from incidents, complaints, and feedback isdisseminatedand embedded at service level. Facilitate effective communication between patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Support compliance with statutory, regulatory, and internal governance requirements, including CQC, PSIRF, and data protection. Contribute to a culture of continuous learning, improvement, and accountability. Support pulling KPI data,identifyingtrendsand opportunities for learningfrom VATIX events. Promote active engagementwithrelevant staff in risk managementto support the maintenance of the register. Support the development,deliveryand monitoring of relevant action plans, and ensure evidence provided to support their delivery is robust. AdministrativeResponsibilities Maintainaccurate,timely, and confidential records in line with data protection and information governance requirements. Support the collation, validation, and reporting of quality, safety, and patient experience data from multiple sources. Coordinate meetings, learning events, and service-level feedback,processes, including preparation of agendas, papers, and action logs. Monitor progress against agreed actions arising from incidents, complaints, audits, and reviews. Support administrative processes related to CQC, PSIRF, and internal assurance requirements. Review and amend complaint responses prior to senior review and sign off. StrategicDevelopment Contribute to the development and delivery of federation-wide quality and patient safety priorities. Support strategic initiatives aimed at improving patient-centred care, safety, and clinical effectiveness. Identifyemerging risks, trends, and opportunities through data analysis and stakeholder feedback. Support alignment of services with national policy, regulatory expectations, and best practice guidance. Contribute to long-term planning for quality improvement and service integration Management andLeadershipResponsibilities Provide professional support and guidance to staff on safe and effective care practices. Promote a culture of openness, learning, and continuous improvement. Support multidisciplinary and cross-organisational working to improve care quality and experience. Act as a role model for patient-centred, values-based practice. Support change initiatives and service improvements, influencing without direct line management responsibility. Policy and ServiceDevelopment Support the development, review, and implementation of policies related to patient safety, quality, and governance. Ensure policies reflect regulatory requirements, data protection duties, and patient-centred principles. Support services to embed policies into day-to-day practice. Contribute to the development of standardised pathways, protocols, and escalation processes across the federation. Support service redesign initiatives to improve safety, effectiveness, and patient experience Research and AuditResponsibilities Support audit and evaluation activity tomonitorcompliance with standards andidentifyareas for improvement. Assistin the design, coordination, and analysis of audits related to quality, safety, and patient experience. Support the use of evidence-based practice and national guidance to inform service improvement. Contribute to the dissemination of audit findings, learning, and best practice. Support a culture of inquiry, reflection, and learning to improve patient-centred care and outcomes EducationandTraining Use opportunities for the dissemination of good practice. Toparticipatein training relevant to the role To support with staff education and development around governance and patient safety processes.
