Summary

CCTV Operator – 34.1 hours per week.
£24,333 – £25,936 per annum plus 20% shift allowance
(Salary Pro-rata based on 37 hours per week)

The post holder will be expected to have agile dexterity and be quick thinking in their approach to monitor and operate approximately 400 CCTV cameras providing coverage throughout the community.

You must be able to demonstrate high levels of professionalism whilst experiencing sensitive, pressurised and stressful situations, maintaining confidentiality of data, using radios and other associated equipment within the CCTV Control Room. I.e. Police Airwave, remote emergency call monitoring equipment, alarms and communication facilities contained within the Control Room.

You will work with MDC Community Protection partners including the police and be able to record as well as report incidents of note immediately to the Nottinghamshire Police Incident Control Room via a dedicated technical links. You will be competent in writing reports, generating database entries into the Video Management System and provide evidential statements to support legal proceedings, as well as provide witness evidence at court when required.

The post holder must be willing to be flexible within the team to cover a Rota including 8-hours Mornings, Days, Afternoons, Evenings, Late’s and Night shifts, spanning the 24 period throughout the whole year.

The successful applicant will hold a valid SIA Public Space Surveillance licence or must be prepared to work towards and achieve their SIA Licence within 3 months of employment.

Previous experience, SIA public space surveillance training and local area knowledge is preferential (although full training will be provided for suitable candidates).
