Apprenticeship – Payments Team – Creditor Payments (Accounts Payable)

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Creditor Payments Team while undertaking a Business Administration Apprenticeship Level 3. This role is ideal for someone with good data processing skills and an interest in working in a figures-driven environment.

You will become part of our busy and challenging Creditor Payments (Accounts Payable) Team, supporting the day-to-day running and operation of the service.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

Processing internal electronic payment request forms, ensuring payments are made within specified timescales.
Processing invoices for payment in line with the Council’s Financial Regulations.
Working within the Council’s performance management framework, meeting performance targets while following established procedures and processes within the Payments Team.
Providing excellent customer service, demonstrating ownership, quality, accountability, and a positive “can-do” approach.
Skills and attributes required:

Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Good organisational and time-management skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
You will be required to complete training identified by the Council, along with all learning requirements set by the apprenticeship training provider.
