About the role
As the Life Science Resource Centre (LSRC) senior technician, you will be the primary lead for resources and technology and will supervise the LSRC technician. Reporting directly to the LSRC manager, you will be responsible for the supply and maintenance of resources to all teaching programmes in the medical and dental school. You will ensure all IT equipment, resources and teaching rooms are prepared for sessions. As a primarily student facing role you will be interacting daily with student queries, you will also liaise with academic staff and external partners regularly.
We are willing to consider job-share applications for part of the role
You will:
• Be responsible for co-ordinating the rota of surface anatomy models for teaching sessions and students who support the LSRC after hours.
• Supervise the 0.5FTE LSRC technician
• Organise a team of technical assistants who support the out-of-hours student access to the LSRC
• Organise a team of surface anatomy models who support anatomy teaching sessions
• Assist the delivery and preparation of teaching resources
• Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations
• Source and purchase innovative resources for teaching sessions.
Due to the nature of the role, unfortunately we are unable to accommodate working from home.
There is an essential requirement within this role that you will be required to travel to and work at different University sites and/or other business locations that may not be easily accessible by public transport. Please refer to the job description for further information.

• Confident in working independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Advanced demonstrable working knowledge of IT packages including Microsoft Office
• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
