About the SENCO Role (Non‑Teaching)

Although non‑teaching, this role is highly visible and hands‑on, with a strong focus on driving high‑quality SEND provision across the school.

Classroom Support & Modelling
- Supporting pupils with EHCPs directly within the classroom
- Modelling effective strategies to strengthen teaching practice
- Ensuring consistency and excellence in SEND provision across all year groups

Multi‑Agency Coordination
- Liaising with external professionals including speech therapists, occupational therapists, educational psychologists, and other specialists
- Coordinating assessments, interventions, and follow‑up actions
- Ensuring smooth communication and joined‑up support for each child

Leadership, Monitoring & Compliance
- Providing strategic insights and updates to senior leaders
- Overseeing SEND reviews, provision mapping, and statutory processes
- Maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring compliance with SEND legislation

Parent Partnership & Community Engagement
- Leading parent drop‑in sessions to support home learning and strengthen relationships
- Offering guidance, reassurance, and practical strategies to families
- Building strong, compassionate partnerships with parents and carers

What We're Looking For

A SENCO who brings warmth, expertise, and a genuine passion for inclusive education. Essential requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- NASENCO Award
- Previous primary SENCO experience
- Compassionate, approachable, and engaging communication style
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- A proactive, solution‑focused mindset
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
