Crynodeb
This is a key role supporting the development, maintenance and application of the Council’s job evaluation framework, ensuring roles are evaluated fairly, consistently and in line with organisational values and behaviours. You will play an important part in promoting the Council as an employer of choice by supporting equitable pay and grading arrangements across the organisation.
Reporting to the Policy, Projects and Industrial Relations Manager, you will work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation and with external customers. You will provide a comprehensive, professional job evaluation service, offering expert advice and guidance on:
Job description content and role design.
Job evaluation methodologies and scheme application.
Evaluation outcomes and appeals.
The postholder will be responsible for undertaking job evaluations and managing appeals to ensure equitable and consistent remuneration across the Council, supporting compliance with equal pay and employment legislation.
We’re looking for someone with the skills, knowledge and experience to operate confidently in a job evaluation environment. You will have:
A Level 3 qualification in an OD/HR-related subject or well-developed experience working within a job evaluation setting.
Knowledge and experience of maintaining and applying job evaluation schemes.
Sound knowledge of job description writing, organisational structure design, and HR policies and procedures.
A good understanding of equal pay and employment legislation.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, professional advice to a range of stakeholders.
