Location: 2 Alice Square, Birkenhead, Merseyside, CH41 2YA
Hours: 36 per week
Start Date: 24 February 2026

Pay Rates:
• PAYE: £27.98 per hour
• Limited/Umbrella: £36.08 per hour

The Role
This is a Supervising Social Worker position within Children’s Social Care, supporting foster carers and ensuring high standards of care for children placed in fostering arrangements. The role requires a confident, experienced practitioner who can manage a varied caseload, maintain compliance with statutory requirements, and contribute to the ongoing development of fostering services.

Key Responsibilities
Provide supervision, guidance, and support to foster carers.

Complete assessments, reviews, and reports in line with statutory and regulatory frameworks.

Ensure the safety and wellbeing of children through regular visits and monitoring.

Work collaboratively with multi‑agency partners to support placement stability.

Maintain accurate, timely case records and documentation.

Participate in team meetings, training, and service development activities.

Contribute to fostering recruitment, training, and retention initiatives where required.

Candidate Requirements
Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.

Proven experience within fostering, safeguarding, or children’s social care.

Strong assessment, report‑writing, and case management skills.

Ability to build effective relationships with carers, children, and professionals.

Confident working independently and managing competing priorities.

Up‑to‑date knowledge of relevant legislation, guidance, and best practice.

Enhanced DBS required.
