Summary
Duties:
a. Always cooperate with the employer.
b. Day to day running and maintain of Ramgarhia Sikh Temple.
c. Provide advice and support to Community members in religious matters.
d. Managing other Temporary Religious Workers and Ministers or Religious, such as allocating duties in accordance with the RST Managing Committee’s directions.
e. Organising, arranging Pathis, and Kirtan Jathas, Sadharan Path, Sri Sukhmani Sahib Paths, Sri Akhand Path Sahib and Anand Karaj as and when required.
f. Parkash Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji in the morning, nitnem, Asa ji di war, Rehras Sahib, kirtan and Sukh Asan in the Evening as per Sikh Religious maryada at Ramgarhia Sikh Temple.
g. Perform Kirtan, Ardaas, Sri Sukhmani Shib ji Path, Sadharan path, Sri Akhand Path Sahib ji at the residence of community members as and when required accordance with RST Managing Committee’s instructions.
All donations to be collected and deposited with the RST Management Committee and obtained an official receipt.
h. Attend and perform funeral and ceremonial rites and Ardas at the residence of the deceased member of the community as and when required by the RST Management Committee.
i. Assist the RST Managing Committee on organising religious programmes/ functions at Ramgarhia Sikh Temple and in the wider community.
j. Maintain the Gurdwara and Ground in clean and tidy manner.
k. Assist RST Managing Committee to organise all Gurpurbs, ie Birthdays, Anniversaries and Martyrdom of Guru ji’s including key historical events as per Sikh Calendar, attend and perform as required also.
l. Distributing of Parshad to the congregation as required
m. Maintaining and ensuring cleanness and tidiness of Diwan halls, Palki Sahib, Sach Khand Sahib and Living Quarters at all times. Only authorised people to go to the Sach Khand with permission, no volunteer can go there unattended.
n. There should always be two granthis at times of Prakash of Guru Granth Sahib and Sughasan. Other volunteers may help with the permission of the granthis.
o. Kirtan Programmes will be designated by the Hon Gen Secretary, please do not invite others to join on stage without permission.
p. Langar Bhog needs to be performed on a daily basis for the Guru Granth sahib Ji with and also fresh degh.
q. A log of going out the Gurdwara Sahib needs to be kept along with one for all volunteers coming into the Gurdwara outside normal diwans time with entrance and exit times.
