Summary

Create the difference! Make the change! Bring your expertise to mental health and social care.

East Sussex County Council’s AMHP hub is fundamental in supporting people who are experiencing an acute mental health crisis. We work closely with Sussex Partnership Foundation Trust to provide safe practice to undertake Mental Health Act assessments.

The day service is a small AMHP hub that currently works Monday – Friday to provide all areas of practice under the Mental Health Act. Within the service we have a Practice Manager, 5 AMHPs and 3 Resource Officers who will support the AMHPs.

We have made several developments to our service over the last 2 years, and we need someone with drive and experience to take the service to the next stage that will see the implementation of the new Mental Health Act as well as support our current redesign.

We need a person that embraces not only working closely with all AMHPs but able to have a strategic ability to support working with all stakeholders with our continual improvements.

You will also be responsible for hiring new staff and building a team that can achieve consistent high levels of service. While you are developing your team, we will help you to progress your own professional development through excellent training, mentoring and support from committed senior leaders.

We are looking for candidates who have:

Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) qualified or able to demonstrate a willingness to undertake the training
Experience of supervising Adult Social Care professionals or the potential to do so, for example development work in a health or social care setting
Effective verbal and written communication skills

Working collectively with colleagues, both internal and external.

A commitment to equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice

Proud member of the Disability Confident employer scheme
