Kismet Kebabs is a leading food manufacturing site specializing in Frozen Kebabs, Chicken Kebabs and semi cooked and sliced Kebabs. We pride ourselves on our commitment to quality, innovation and excellence. We are currently seeking a Forklift Operative to join our team in LATCHINGDON, Essex.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to efficiently move, load, and unload goods within our facility. This role is crucial in maintaining the flow of materials and ensuring that all operations run smoothly and safely.
Duties
Operate forklifts and other appropriate equipment to load and unload materials from lorries.
Perform shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring accurate documentation of all incoming and outgoing goods.
Manage inventory using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track stock levels and locations.
Conduct regular inspections of equipment, reporting any maintenance or repair needs promptly.
Handle materials with care, ensuring safe lifting techniques are employed to prevent injury.
Maintain a clean and organised work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Assist in training new staff on proper forklift operation and safety protocols.
Skills/Experience Required
Valid forklift licence with proven experience in operating forklift trucks safely.
Prior warehouse experience, including materials handling and shipping & receiving procedures.
Familiarity with warehouse management systems is desirable.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
Basic maths skills for inventory counting and documentation purposes.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
