Summary

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is recruiting for Campaigns Managers to be part of our supportive and high-performing marketing and social media team. You will be helping to shape communications across DWP owned channels and across broader paid communications, including breaking press stories.

The work of the DWP makes a difference to the lives of millions of people across the country – from supporting low-income households and helping people to start or return to work via our national network of Jobcentres, enacting policy to improve the lives of disabled people and ensuring pension savers are protected from unscrupulous scammers.

To succeed in the role, you will have creative campaigns experience, the ability to think strategically, excellent interpersonal skills, and an aptitude for digesting complex information and explaining it in plain English.

We are a close-knit team that collaborates with the press, external affairs, visits and internal comms teams, as well as private offices, policy and frontline colleagues.

This post will be based in Sheffield or Leeds.

If this sounds like the right fit for you, we would love to hear from you!

As a Campaigns Manager you will:

  • Collaborate with comms colleagues across Press, External Affairs, Visits, Video and Design teams, to deliver creative campaigns that cut-through and are optimised for a range of channels and audiences.
  • Understand the policy, operational, cross-government and external operating environment. Become a subject matter expert, representing our key audience needs and ensuring they are factored into decision making.
  • Develop bold and innovative paid or no-cost strategies and creative campaign content, which maximise reach, trust, relevance and impact.
  • Use audience insight and performance data to inform decisions and shape content that is integrated with policy and operational delivery.
  • Monitor and evaluate campaign performance and present findings to a range of stakeholders.
  • Manage the development of creative content across owned or paid campaigns. Be able to translate insights and complex subject matter into clear, accessible and engaging communications.
  • Manage external agencies and collaborate with in-house colleagues to generate distinct, multi-platform campaigns in response to campaign briefs or aligned to policy announcements.
  • Deliver campaign messages through trusted voices. Contribute to our case-study programme to identify leads across different campaign themes and work with internal and external influencers, putting real voices at the heart of our campaigns.
  • Confidently work with agencies and suppliers to ensure that services are cost-effective and represent good value for the taxpayer.
  • Seek out opportunities for innovation and improvement.
