Summary
We would welcome applications from HR professionals who are looking to join a supportive and forward‑thinking team on a fixed‑term contract of up to twelve months. This is an excellent opportunity to develop and flourish in your HR career while making a meaningful contribution to the Council.
You will work as part of a collaborative HR team, where professional development is encouraged and your expertise is valued. The role involves working closely with managers across the Council, providing practical, timely advice and guidance on a wide range of people matters. These include employee relations casework, managing sickness absence, and supporting senior recruitment campaigns.
The Council is committed to promoting the health and wellbeing of its workforce. As part of this role, you will work with colleagues to analyse workforce data, helping to identify trends and areas where targeted support will have the greatest impact. You will play a key role in shaping and delivering effective, evidence‑based people interventions.
You will use your professional judgement to explore complex people issues, assess the implications for the organisation, and develop innovative and practical solutions. This will involve working closely with senior managers and trade unions, ensuring a balanced, fair, and consistent approach.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
Holds a CIPD Level 5 qualification (or an equivalent HR‑related qualification), or
Holds a CIPD Level 3 qualification with well‑developed experience as an HR Advisor
Has strong experience in providing HR advice across a range of employee relations matters
Is confident working with managers and building effective professional relationships
Is comfortable using data and insight to inform decision‑making
Demonstrates sound judgement, professionalism, and a solution‑focused approach
