Responsibilities
Conduct thorough inspections of residential properties to assess disrepair issues.
Prepare detailed reports documenting findings, including photographic evidence and estimates for repairs.
Collaborate with legal teams to provide expert advice and evidence in disrepair claims.
Advise on compliance with relevant building regulations and health and safety legislation.
Liaise with tenants to understand their concerns and provide updates on the repair process.
Work closely with contractors and maintenance teams to oversee necessary repair work and ensure quality standards are met.
Develop and implement effective strategies for the management of disrepair claims.
Monitor and evaluate the condition of properties to identify any emergent issues and recommend preventative measures.
Requirements
Qualified Building Surveyor with a relevant degree or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 5 years experience in building surveying, with a focus on legal disrepair.
Strong knowledge of building regulations, health and safety standards, and housing law.
Proven experience in property inspection and survey reporting.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with various stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex issues and provide effective solutions.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
