About this Role
We are looking for candidates who are passionate about supporting young learners in primary school settings (ages 5–10). We are seeking people who are well-spoken, enthusiastic, confident, and genuinely committed to making a positive impact in the classroom. You do not need formal teaching qualifications; what matters most is your communication, your attitude, and your ability to engage children in a warm, supportive way. Experience with SEN is highly valued, but we also welcome applicants who thrive in mainstream primary classrooms.
Requirements
We are interested in candidates who are: • Well-spoken, articulate, and confident communicators • Enthusiastic, proactive, and passionate about children’s development • Calm, patient, and able to build trust quickly • Comfortable supporting SEN pupils or open to developing these skills • Reliable and committed to working during school hours (8:30–3:30) • Professional in behaviour, appearance, and attitude We welcome individuals from backgrounds such as: • Teaching Assistants & SEN Support (including experience with relatives, e.g., brother or sister) • Youth work, care, support roles • Tutoring or mentoring • Community, sports, or creative work with children • Graduates and career changers looking for meaningful work with purpose
Responsibilities
You may be placed in roles where you: • Support children aged 5–10 with daily learning activities • Provide encouraging one-to-one or small-group support • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons • Support pupils with additional needs (SEN) using patience and empathy • Help maintain a positive and structured classroom environment • Communicate clearly and confidently with teachers and school staff
