Summary

Personal Assistant (PA)/Support Worker

About the Direct Payment Holder We are parents to our 35 year old son, who has autism and learning difficulties.
N likes being active outdoors and participating in sporting activities.
N need assistance in ensuring he is dressed accordingly or the weather and support with safety around the home environment.
Hours and rate of pay hours 20 – 25 hours per week, evenings & weekends, there is also some flexibility needed.
Rate of pay is £14.00 per hour.

Location South of Cambridge
DBS/Checks Confirmation of DBS check
Right to Work and references will be needed.
What you would be doing… Support with keep N engaged at home with activities including video games, language promotion and simple functional daily living activities
Support with accessing outside activities and accompanying him to sports, bowling, cinema and the leisure centre.
Supporting with personal needs such as ensuring N is dressed appropriately and assisting N with putting certain items of clothing on.
Ensuring N is safe within the home environment and not left unsupervised around appliances or objects that could cause harm.
Required skills and experience Someone who enjoys being active, who has the skills to give support within activities at home and also enjoying outside activities. Some knowledge and experience with working with people with autism and learning disabilities. You should have a genuine interest in the provision of high quality care, have some flexibility in the hours you can work also possess the motivation to develop trust and understanding within the role, be hardworking, reliable, committed, honest, and trustworthy with a cheerful sense of humour.
Someone with a driving licence and access to own car is desirable but not essential.
