Essential Qualifications
• Level 3 qualification in Childcare / Early Years (or equivalent)
• Relevant safeguarding and paediatric first aid training (or willingness to undertake)
Desirable Qualifications
• Level 4 or higher qualification in Early Years
• Leadership or mentoring training
Essential Experience
• Significant experience working within an EYFS/nursery setting
• Experience of supporting children’s learning through play‑based approaches
• Experience of working as a key person
• Experience of supporting or leading other staff
Skills and Knowledge
• Secure knowledge of the EYFS framework and child development
• Strong behaviour management and inclusive practice skills
• Ability to lead, motivate, and support a team
• Strong communication skills with children, staff, and families
• Ability to observe, assess, and plan for children’s next steps

• High expectations for children’s learning and behaviour
