About the Role
Citizens have the right to make requests for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and Environmental Information Regulations 2004 and your role will be to help facilitate these requests. This role is a fantastic opportunity for a talented person to develop their information compliance skills working in this rapidly evolving area.
You will possess an up-to-date knowledge of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, Environmental Information Regulations 2004 and Data Protection Act 2018 and associated legislation.
You will ensure Nottingham City Council’s continued compliance with Freedom of Information and Environmental Information Regulations legislation by facilitating the lawful acquisition and disclosure of non personal data held by the Council. You will also provide professional advice and guidance to both internal and external customers and other colleagues whilst maintaining a high standard of casework.
This position requires you to have a keen eye for detail and an ability to apply detailed legislation when, logging, processing and responding to requests for information.
You will assist the proactive publication of statutory and non statutory information on Nottingham City Council’s data hub.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
· Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential material
· Ability to manage a large and varied caseload
· Ability to liaise with teams across the Council and external agencies
· Ability to write emails and letters in a clear and understandable manner relating to complex legislation
· Good awareness of the Freedom of Information Act, the Environmental Information Regulations and the Data Protection Act
· Ability to work as part of a team in a positive and inclusive manner
