Summary
Clinical Assess, plan, implement, monitor and evaluate the care of patients. Acknowledge personal preferences, rights and choice of patients undergoing procedures. Maintain health, safety and the control of infection in clinical work areas in line with Trust policies and procedures. Receive, transfer and position patients for clinical procedures in line with the Trusts Manual Handling regulations. Store, prepare and administer prescribed drugs to patients, and monitor the effects of drugs on patients in line with Trust policies. Prepare, monitor and maintain materials and equipment for clinical procedures. Take action if found to be faulty. Support, monitor and care for patients during clinical procedures. Contribute to treating patients during clinical emergencies. Maintain accurate & legible records of care. Teamwork Communicate effectively with other members of the Catheter Suite Team and other clinical work areas. Acknowledge and value peoples roles within the team. Recognise own limitations within the team. Participate in achieving the aims of the Department/Trust. Leadership and Innovation Demonstrate a flexible attitude to changes in practice within the Cardiac Catheter suite and the Trust. Reflect correct etiquette within work area. Contribute to the effective & efficient utilisation of Catheter Suite resources. Recognise and prevent / report areas of conflict within the Catheter Suite environment. Recognise & forward any complaints from patients / carers / visitors and communicate them to senior staff. Education and Coaching Develop own knowledge by evaluating and reflecting on their practice. Maintain a professional profile. Participate in creating a learning environment in the Cardiac Catheter Suite. Act as a role model to junior members of staff. Research / Governance Contribute to the development of practice within Catheter Suite practice. Utilise research to inform practice. Participate in Clinical Governance Activity: Audit Activity Data Collection Contribute to the development of standards of care in the Cardiac Catheter Suite.
