Summary
Rail Planner
Location: Ferrybridge Operations Centre
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Rail Planner to join a busy rail operations and planning team based at the Ferrybridge Operations Centre. This role plays a key part in delivering safe, efficient, and commercially effective train plans in line with industry standards and customer requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planning workloads efficiently and effectively in compliance with Network Code and wider industry planning processes
- Work collaboratively within the planning team to ensure the weekly train plan is delivered accurately and on time
- Liaise with relevant industry stakeholders and contacts as required
- Produce train plans that maximise operational efficiency and profitability while meeting customer and service requirements
- Ensure all plans and diagrams are compliant with internal standards and industry criteria
Skills & Experience Required
- Good knowledge of freight train operations and a sound understanding of railway geography
- Strong planning and organisational skills
- Ability to produce clear and compliant operational diagrams for frontline staff
- Good IT skills, including experience with:
- Voyagerplan (or similar train planning software)
- TOPS / TRUST
- Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
