TeacherActive are working closely with a friendly and supportive Primary School in East Birmingham, who are looking to appoint a Year 1 Teacher on a part-time basis (3 days per week).

This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate teacher who enjoys delivering engaging lessons, supporting pupils during the crucial transition from EYFS to KS1, and taking full ownership of their classroom responsibilities.

The Role:

The successful candidate will take on the full responsibilities of a class teacher, including:

  • Planning, preparing, and delivering high-quality Year 1 lessons


  • Assessing, tracking, and supporting pupil progress


  • Creating a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment


  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively


  • Working collaboratively with teaching assistants and senior leaders


  • Communicating professionally with staff and parents where required


    ‍ The Ideal Candidate:

    We are looking for a teacher who:

    • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)


    • Has experience teaching Year 1 (desirable but not essential)


    • Is confident planning and delivering lessons independently


    • Is happy to work through TeacherActive and be paid via PAYE


    • Is organised, reliable, and committed to high standards of teaching


    • Is open to applying if they are an ECT looking to build strong KS1 experience


      ✅ Compliance Requirements:

      • A DBS certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for a new Enhanced DBS through TeacherActive


      • Ability to provide two professional references, ideally from recent school-based roles
