Summary

Design Technology Teacher – Flexible short-term and long-term opportunities available immediately
These flexible opportunities are ideal for teachers who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different secondary school settings. You will be supporting schools in a range of environments, delivering Design Technology lessons across Key Stages as part of general supply cover.Duties as Design Technology Teacher:

• Deliver engaging lessons across the Design Technology curriculum following provided plans
• Teach specialisms such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, or Food Technology when required
• Promote safe use of tools, equipment, and machinery at all times
• Support students in developing practical skills, creativity, and problem-solving
• Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress
• Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Manage behaviour effectively in line with school policies
• Contribute to department projects during longer-term placements

Ideal Design Technology Teacher:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Strong subject knowledge across Design Technology specialisms
• Confident in delivering practical and theory-based lessons
• Ability to motivate and inspire students of mixed abilities
• Skilled in maintaining safe working environments
• Adaptable and confident working across different schools
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
