The role

Purpose of the role:

The Material Planner is responsible for ensuring all ingredient materials are available to meet production plans and achieve exceptional service levels. This includes managing material ordering within supplier lead times, monitoring stock levels, and preventing shortages or surplus.

With a strong focus on customer service, this role involves frequent and collaborative interaction with suppliers, project managers, marketing teams, site operations, and other key stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of plans and the successful delivery of both ongoing production and new product launches.

Key accountabilities

Key responsibilities:

  • Delivery of Customer Service & Conformance to Plan objectives.
  • Ownership of SAP MRP & material ordering process adhering to lead times – ensuring continuity to supply with no impact to production plan manufacturing.
  • Contract fulfilment in SAP.
  • Cross functional working between Procurement, Project Managers, Operations internally and external suppliers.
  • Holding correct Material Goods stocks.
  • Reacting to short notice plan amendments and communicating changes effectively.
  • Supporting implementation of new product development.

Skills & experience

Key Ingredients for suitable candidates include:

  • Knowledge of MRP and SAP systems would be highly advantageous.
  • Experience of working directly with customers.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Good numeracy skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
