Summary
Randstad is currently looking for versatile and passionate Secondary Teachers across all subject specialisms to work within our welcoming partner schools based in the Wigan area. You'll be joining dedicated teams of highly skilled staff and learning support assistants, taking responsibility for pupil progress while providing 1:1 support when required to ensure no child is left behind.
We welcome qualified teachers at any stage of their career-from Early Career Teachers (ECTs) to experienced practitioners. Whether you are looking for the flexibility of daily cover or a committed long-term post, we provide the platform for you to inspire others and share your expertise within the Greater Manchester region.
The Opportunity: Supply vs. Long-TermWe are currently recruiting for ad-hoc supply positions, offering daily cover roles with a competitive pay range of £120 - £140 per day. The expectation of daily cover is that work will be provided for you; no planning or preparation is needed. You will be required to deliver the work, maintain the class in line with school expectations, and mark before leaving. This is perfect for maintaining your classroom status without full teaching responsibilities.
For those seeking a long-term commitment, pay ranges from £150 up to £220 per day depending on the role. These are temporary contracts (maternity cover, resignations, or staffing gaps) where you will be responsible for full planning, preparation, classroom management, SLT meetings, and wider school responsibilities.
Your Responsibilities-
Positive Environment: Create an engaging learning space through professionally planned lessons and stimulating classroom displays.
-
Innovation: Use imagination and innovation to enhance the learning experience, ensuring lessons are both challenging and accessible.
-
Classroom Leadership: Maintain effective discipline and control over the whole class, fostering a culture of respect and high expectations.
-
Curriculum Mastery: Adhere to the National Curriculum, including staying up to date with any structural changes in your subject area.
-
Student Nurture: Stretch high-achieving pupils while providing additional support to those who need it most.
-
Relevant Qualifications: Must hold QTS, QTLS, or an equivalent teaching qualification (PGCE/B.Ed).
-
Experience: Proven experience working within Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
-
Compliance: An Enhanced DBS on the update service and eligibility to work in the UK (sponsorship is not available).
-
References: Ability to provide professional references covering at least 12 months within the last 2 years.
-
Personal Attributes: Commitment, flexibility, and an enthusiastic approach to secondary education.
