Summary
The Business Intelligence Analyst is a technically focused role responsible for developing and maintaining the College’s business intelligence infrastructure, supporting the delivery of high-quality data, reporting, and recommendations. Working under the direction of the Lead Business Intelligence Analyst, the post holder plays a key role in building and maintaining data pipelines, writing SQL queries, and developing Power BI dashboards that provide actionable insights to inform strategic and operational decision-making.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
o Educated to degree level or with demonstrable relevant professional experience at SCQF level 9 or above. (Preferably in Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field.)
o Experience in developing and maintaining dashboards and reports using Power BI or equivalent business intelligence tools
o Experience writing complex SQL queries and managing large, relational datasets across multiple sources.
Desirable:
o Professional qualifications (e.g. Microsoft certification)
o Awareness of Agile and Service Design methodologies
o Excellent understanding of the education sector
Skills and Attributes
Essential:
o Ability to work with complex data to uncover patterns, trends, and insights that support informed decisions.
o Proficiency in Power BI and SQL, with knowledge of data modelling, data transformation, and dashboard development.
o Ability to communicate technical concepts and insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
